The
Ganoderma Lucidum Adaptogen
Ganoderma lucidium, also
known as reishi or lingzhi, is a woody mushroom found in various
geographical regions such as North and South America, Africa, Europe,
and Asia. For centuries, Asian traditional medicine has used this
adaptogen because of its believed abilities to help or remedy ailments
such as low blood pressure, high blood pressure, heart conditions,
ulcers, insomnia, psoriasis, diabetes, and much more. The Far East
considers the Ganoderma lucidium adaptogen a very important herbal
remedy.
In the 1950’s, Dr. Israel Brekhman found thousands of untouched
plants, adaptogen herbs, in a remote mountainous region in Russia
called Primorye. He discovered that these adaptogen herbs somehow
helped alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression that could overtake
a person’s life. These adaptogen herbs helped people cope
with their surroundings.
Some also believe the Ganoderma lucidum adaptogen can remedy:
- Alcoholism
- Mumps
- Paralysis
- Tiredness
- Sterility
- Rheumatism
As of now, the FDA has not approved the
use of this adaptogen for medical treatment. No large-scale unbiased
human trials have been performed using gandoerma lucidum, although
some have been performed on mice, rats, and hamsters. A clinical
trial should assess the drug’s safety. Contact your physician
before using the ganoderma lucidum adaptogen.
